In short, Tuesday is a big day. The Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill must get a majority in parliament, or gay marriage is not likely to be legalised any time soon!
I am very much in support of allowing gay couples to get married, and if you're also a 21st century human being with a beating heart, you probably are too. SO - how can we, the people, help in pushing forward the Bill in parliament?
You can write to your local MP. Writing to your local representative is a great way to get involved. Remember, MPs fear losing their place in parliament, so if you are a) a voter or b) nearing the voting age, do remember to tell them!
If you don't know who your local MP is, I suggest that you first look it up HERE, and then get writing your letter.
If you're a bit stuck for what to say, use my letter. Just add in the name of your MP and your own name at the bottom.
This is exactly what I sent to my local MP, but feel free to embellish it.
