But there's always one question: "Why Not All About Boys?"
Genuinely, I've had people thinking that it's a feminist thing, or something about being a girly-girl, or even a lesbian thing!
Well folks, the truth of it is, I created www.notallaboutboys.com at about 3AM (I find that this is actually my most productive hour of the day for writing), with a bowl of cheerios in one hand (any teenager will tell you that midnight cereal makes for great brainfood), and the mouse in the other. I had gone through every stage of creating a site possible- except choosing a domain name. It was the very last step in making my own blog.
I racked my brain for a while, and suddenly- a burst of inspiration! NOT ALL ABOUT BOYS! "Eureka!!!" I screeched, standing bolt upright and throwing the cereal bowl over my head with delight.
As cheerios showered down around me, I grinned and wondered... will people get it? That Not All About Boys is not just a silly little girl, tapping away at her keyboard about exactly what Brad said to Janine today at school, or who got off with who at that party, or just how much she fancies the boy she sits next to in Science?
That it's about teenagers, that's it's about real issues- and it's not just a load of waffle from a 15 year old girl with nothing to say?
'Will they understand that?' I thought to myself.
"Yes, I think so"
Comment Question of the Day: What was the bravest thing you've ever done? I ask because I think setting up this blog was pretty brave of me, because I was initially hesitant about getting started- what with all the mean people on the internet. But it's definitely paid off. I'm a lot more confident in my writing now, and doing the blog has made me realise that I want to do journalism when I'm older too.
