Of course, the people were absolutely lovely. There were three other volunteers, around our age, who were in the Sixth Form and were really great fun to work with.
What seemed to stand out to me about volunteering today was that it’s great that teenagers can do some good for their community, meet new people and have fun in this way. I seriously believe that schemes like this really do keep kids off the street at night, and stop us from growing up too selfishly, and only looking after ourselves.
Or, alternatively, I’m just not cool enough to have plans on a Saturday evening...
Oh, I’m just kidding! I had a genuinely brilliant time and will definitely be doing some more volunteering at St. Joseph’s again.
If any of my London fans would like to go help out, they could always do with a hand, so definitely email them. http://www.stjoseph.org.uk/contact-us.html
