Well, it's going well - I've successfully bribed, bullied and blackmailed basically ALL of my friends into getting festive!
And as happy as I am about this, there's a bit of a downside- being so Christmassy has earnt me a certain nickname.
Yes, I am now known (lovingly, I hope) as as one of Santa's elves. Not only does the 'elf' nickname work because of my love of Christmas, it's also a dig at my height.
For anyone who doesn't know, I am short. About 5 foot, although I haven't measured in a little while, and I have always been picked on for being a 'midget', a 'short arse' or a 'dwarf'.
So here's something for like-minded shorties like me: THE FIVE GREATEST THINGS ABOUT BEING SHORT!
This is possibly one of the best things about being short, especially if you're really competitive like I am. Being small means that you can fit into cupboards, and all sorts of tiny nooks and crannies without being found, and you win every time.
2) Being cute.
Who can resist the doleful look of an adorable little girl looking up at them? Especially if you add in the puppy eyes, it always works a charm whenever you're trying to persuade people to do things for you!
On more than one occasion, I have overheard tall girls moaning that they can't wear heels because they look gigantic in them. And, rather horribly, all I can do is laugh. Being short gives me a reason to wear heels every day of the week so HAH, tall girls - HAH!
4) Limbo-dancing skills.
*Puts on scientific glasses* Yes, due to the fact that short people have shorter spines, it is a well-known fact that they tend to be better limbo dancers. I, myself, am not particularly gifted with this talent, but nonetheless, short people are better limbo-dancers. FACT (probably).
5) Not being the one who has to hold the umbrella.
If you're the short one out of a couple, you aren't lumbered with the job of holding the umbrella when it rains. Short people like myself simply glide through life, having their umbrellas carried for them - it's great!
So there you have it. I may be a little 'elf' according to my school friends, but at least I'm a happy one!
If you're short like me, comment below your favourite thing about being 'petite'. And if you're not short, why is it better to be tall? I like a good argument, so comment below!
